K-Swiss puts twist on white tennies

map

Tongue Twister by K-Swiss is the newest gimmick in shoe design aimed at trendy teens. The shoe gets a new look with a tongue that spins with a twist from white to a contrasting-but-coordinating color. The company's ads boast "1 shoe, 2 looks, 3 seconds." Both sides of the tongue on the leather and synthetic shoe carry the K-Swiss logo. $55 at stores and www.kswiss.com.

Fairy tale jewelry: Friends Sherri Harney and Sharon Cook of West Chester Township always had a "thing" about jewelry. As little girls, they imagined themselves decked out in all things glittery. So when it came to naming their cubic zirconium jewelry business, they chose Fairy Tale Jewelry. Their Web site - www.fairytalejewelry.com - has rings, necklaces, earrings and bracelets (and money clips and rope necklaces) for those who want the flash without the expense and responsibility of diamonds.

Free. It will be repeated 6:30-7:30 p.m. (registration at 6 p.m.) next Tuesday at the Omni Netherland Plaza Hotel, downtown. Reservations: 841-1500.

Animal aid shopping: Placing a $100 order at Donna Salyers' Fabulous Furs Web site through Jan. 31 will send 15 percent of what you spend to the Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary in Caledonia, Miss. - and you get a four-pack of faux fur-trimmed socks valued at $24. At www.fabulousfurs.com.
