Staying in

Critic's pick: Acting and airplanes have been twin obsessions for John Travolta. He dropped out of high school to pursue acting but skipped a shot at An Officer and a Gentleman because of pilot school. Here is a look at his life. Biography, 8 p.m., A&E.

The goods

Pretty in pink: Hard to believe, but Peeps - the little yellow Easter chicks - are turning 50. In honor of which, manufacturer Just Born is cooking up pink Peeps hearts for Valentine's Day. The things come in a box of two for 50 cents and, as with all Peeps products, should be eaten only when on the verge of being petrified.
