The Cincinnati Enquirer
With the preliminaries out of the way, the Cincinnati, Xavier and Kentucky men's college basketball programs begin conference play this week.
The Bearcats (9-3) open Conference USA play against DePaul at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Shoemaker Center. The Blue Demons (8-2) lost by 31 points to Notre Dame and by three points at St. Joseph's.
Xavier (9-3), ranked 19th and coming off a 65-58 loss at top-ranked Alabama, opens Atlantic 10 play at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Richmond at Cintas Center. The Spiders are 8-5 with a Dec. 17 victory over then-No. 21 Stanford, which beat the Musketeers 63-62 in the second game of the season.
Richmond is coming off a 68-62 loss to 23rd-ranked Wake Forest.
Kentucky is coming off a close-call 83-75 victory over Ohio on Saturday at U.S. Bank Arena.
The 20th-ranked Wildcats (9-3) open Southeastern Conference play at rival Tennessee at 8 p.m. Wednesday. The Volunteers (7-2) haven't faced a ranked team this season, and their losses are at Texas A&M and West Virginia.
UC, Xavier and Kentucky also have league games Saturday.
