$10.7M grant to help Ky.'s unemployed
The Cincinnati Enquirer
More unemployed people in three Northern Kentucky counties may be eligible for training and help finding a job through a federal grant announced by U.S. Sen. Jim Bunning.
The $10.7 million grant will be administered by the Kentucky Cabinet for Workforce Development and will available to more than 1,700 unemployed residents in 31 counties, including Boone, Kenton and Campbell.
The grant will pay for job placement, basic skills training and other support services. Retraining will be provided for several occupations, including information technology, health care, clerical and administrative and managerial.
"This is great news for dislocated workers across the Commonwealth," said Mr. Bunning, a Southgate Republican.
