UC women win school-record 16th straight at home
Bearcats sharp in beating Toledo
The Cincinnati Enquirer
The Cincinnati Bearcats overcame an early 14-point deficit to defeat Toledo 64-57 in women's basketball Saturday for a school-record 16th consecutive home victory at Shoemaker Center.
With the Bearcats clinging to a three-point lead with less than a minute to play, K.B. Sharp drove the lane and hit a tough layup that pushed UC back ahead by five.
On the ensuing Rockets possession, Sharp stole the ball from Tia Davis with eight seconds to play and was fouled six seconds later. She sank both free throws for the final seven-point margin.
The victory topped a 15-game stretch of home wins from 1981 when games were played in Armory Fieldhouse.
The Bearcats (9-3) were led by Sharp's 19 points and five assists.
