Cuyahoga, Summit can get storm aid
Federal assistance will help clean up tornado damage
The Associated Press
FINDLAY, Ohio - Two more counties - Cuyahoga and Summit - will be eligible for federal disaster assistance to help clean up from the tornadoes and other storms that swept through northern Ohio a month ago.
The counties can receive aid available through the disaster declaration approved by President Bush on Nov. 18.
Federal money already had been approved to assist people whose homes and businesses were severely damaged in Van Wert, Ottawa, Paulding, Putnam and Seneca counties.
State and federal governments have approved close to $1 million in grants and loans to help the recovery from the Nov. 10 storms.
Victims can still apply for help. The deadline is Jan. 17.
