ST. LOUIS - Alexander Khavanov got his second game-winning goal of the season when he scored at 1:02 of overtime to give the St. Louis Blues a 3-2 victory Thursday night over the Los Angeles Kings.
Khavanov beat Felix Potvin from about 20 feet. Doug Weight had scored for St. Louis with 39 seconds left to tie the game.
Jaroslav Modry's goal at 15:45 had given the Kings a 2-1 lead. Modry knocked in a loose puck from the crease.
Devils 4, Rangers 4 EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Mark Messier scored on a backhander in close with 3:35 left in regulation to give New York the tie with New Jersey.
Tom Poti, Petr Nedved and Radek Dvorak scored for the Rangers, who took advantage of a rare bad game by Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur. New York only took 27 shots, including all five in overtime.
Sergei Brylin, Jeff Friesen, Patrik Elias and Brian Gionta scored for the Devils, who rallied from a 3-2 deficit at the start of the third period.
Messier got the equalizer with his 10th goal of the season.
Flyers 2, Sharks 2 PHILADELPHIA - Jeremy Roenick's power-play goal with 7:29 left in regulation gave the Flyers into their fourth tie in five games.
Teemu Selanne and Patrick Marleau scored for the Sharks, unbeaten in three games. The Flyers are unbeaten in five (1-0-4).
Before Roenick's goal, Philadelphia hadn't scored in 32 power-play opportunities, including its first four against the Sharks. San Jose was 1-for-8 with the man-advantage.
Goaltender Robert Esche kept the Flyers in it with several outstanding stops among his 27 saves.
Islanders 7, Lightning 2 TAMPA, Fla. - Jason Blake had two goals and two assists, and Jason Wiemer added a goal and three assists for New York.
Garth Snow made 29 saves for New York. He got the start although Chris Osgood is 13-0 against Tampa Bay.
Snow is 2-3-3 against the Lightning. He received a five-minute match penalty for an attempt to injury with his goaltending gear during a scrum near the net with 2:45 left to play and was ejected. Osgood finished the game.
Mark Parrish had two goals for the Islanders, ending a 10-game drought.
Bruins 3, Hurricanes 1 BOSTON - Glen Murray scored his 200th and 201st career goals, and Brian Rolston added a short-handed tally as Boston beat Carolina in front of the second-smallest FleetCenter crowd ever.
Boston, whose five-game unbeaten streak was snapped in at Toronto on Tuesday, has won six of nine (6-1-1-1).
Carolina took a 1-0 lead in the opening period on Kevyn Adams' goal.
The game drew just 10,667. The smallest was 9,491 on Oct. 31.
Wild 4, Capitals 3 WASHINGTON - Pascal Dupuis had a goal and two assists as Minnesota held off Washington.
Dupuis scored the only goal in last Saturday's 1-0 victory over the Capitals in Minnesota. His third-period goal in this game gave the Wild a 4-2 lead at 9:52 of the third period.
Washington's power-play problems continued. The Capitals failed to score on their three extra-man chances. The Capitals are now in a 9-for-78 power-play slump while the Wild have killed 21 straight penalties.
Senators 3, Canadiens 2 OTTAWA - Chris Phillips scored his first goal of the season late in the second period to lift Ottawa over Montreal.
Phillips, a defenseman held to two assists through 16 games, scored 18:33 into the second to break a 2-2 tie. He had gone 21 regular-season games without a goal, dating to last season.
Montreal's Jeff Hackett made 34 saves, including a remarkable pad stop on Marian Hossa with just over eight minutes left to keep the Canadiens within one. But Hackett lost for just the second time in 10 games (5-2-2), making made his second start in as many nights for the injured Jose Theodore.
Predators 1, Avalanche 1 DENVER - Andreas Johansson scored 14 seconds into the third period, and Nashville and Colorado played to a tie.
Rob Blake had a first-period goal for the Avalanche, who continued to struggle at home this season (1-4-4-1).
Nashville goaltender Tomas Vokoun withstood Colorado's 9-3 edge in shots in overtime, finishing with 31 saves.
Colorado's Patrick Roy had 29 saves, including a solid third period in which his team was outshot 14-2.
Peter Forsberg had an apparent goal disallowed when Avalanche teammate Vaclav Nedorost was whistled for interference.
Oilers 3, Flames 1 CALGARY, Alberta - Todd Marchant scored twice and set up Shawn Horcoff's tiebreaking goal as Edmonton stretched Calgary's losing streak to seven games.
Calgary's offensive struggles continue as the Flames have scored just three times during their losing streak in which they were shut out four times.
Edmonton has won four of five.
Defenseman Petr Buzek was the unlikely goal scorer for Calgary. He tallied his first of the season and just his second in 52 career games with the Flames.
Tommy Salo turned in another strong start making 26 saves for the Oilers.
