BATAVIA - The Clermont County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities apparently will lose about $2.1 million of its $13 million budget, as its levy was defeated Tuesday.
The MRDD levy lost, 52 percent to 48 percent. It would have generated $3.2 million to pay for existing programs and eliminate a 52-person waiting list for services. The MRDD's current 0.75-mill levy, generating $2.1 million, expires Dec. 31.
Teresa Youngstrom of Miami Township said she voted against the levy because she feels the agency is mismanaging money.
Money issues passed in Amelia, Union Township, Goshen Township and Owensville, and failed in Pierce Township and Bethel-Tate.
