Combs, Rogers win re-election

In races for county offices, Butler County Commissioner Courtney Combs and Butler County Auditor Kay Rogers breezed to easy victories Tuesday.

Mr. Combs, a Republican, was re-elected for his fifth term as commissioner, defeating Democrat Melvin Smith and independent Fred Hogan.

Mr. Combs garnered 60 percent of the vote, while Mr. Smith had 22 percent and Mr. Hogan, 18 percent. Ms. Rogers, a Republican, beat independent Robert Weber, 69 percent to 31 percent.

Charles Pater won a newly created Butler County Common Pleas judge's seat, while Ronald Craft won a new Butler County Juvenile Court judgeship.
