Some Good News

Senior Day focus on information

map

Seniors Day will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Crestview Hills Mall in Crestview Hills, Ky.

Northern Kentucky's eighth annual Senior Expo, sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Area Development District, expects to draw 2,000 seniors, friends and relatives.

"It is an information exchange session," said Michael Hurysz, director of human resources for the district. "What we do on this day is all free. We try to make it noncommercial. We tell vendors not to sell anything because it is all about doing something for seniors."

The expo will include exhibits, free flu shots, health screenings, giveaways and door prizes, Mr. Hurysz said.

"We will have the Pete Wagner Orchestra, Irish dancers and an Elvis impressionist," Mr. Hurysz said. "Anybody can come because everybody knows somebody over 60. This could be a chance to get information to share with a senior you know."

For more information, call (859) 283-1885.

Ms. Isphording said a team of four people that signs up to run or walk will provide a Thanksgiving Day Dinner to a family of four by crossing the finish line.

Signups can be done at www.thanksgivingdayrace.com, or get an application at Provident Bank, Skyline Chili or HoneyBaked Ham.

The race will start at Paul Brown Stadium, go through downtown Cincinnati, Newport, Covington and back to the stadium.

Proceeds benefit the Anthony Munoz Foundation, the Leukemia Lymphoma Society and the FreeStore/FoodBank.
