County employee accused of assault

A Hamilton County employee was arrested Sunday for allegedly assaulting a fellow county employee.

Marty Power, 34, who works as a bailiff in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court, is accused of trying to choke Erica Mitchell on Sunday.

Mr. Power is free in lieu of $1,000 bond and has been ordered to stay away from Ms. Mitchell, court records show.

Ms. Mitchell, who works in the Assignment Commissioner's office for Hamilton County Common Pleas Court, did not suffer serious injuries, officials said.

Mr. Power, who has worked for the county since 1993, was placed on administrative leave with pay Monday pending the outcome of this alleged incident.
