The Cincinnati Enquirer
A 34-year-old man shot last week in Walnut Hills has died, becoming the city's 51st homicide victim this year.
Gino Booker was found lying on the sidewalk along Walters Avenue about 4:30 p.m. Oct. 16 with a gunshot wound in his abdomen. Witnesses told police the Walnut Hills man argued with another man before he was shot.
Police are looking for a suspect who drove off in blue mid-size sedan with tinted windows.
Investigators ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
Last year's tally of 63 killings was the highest number in 15 years.
The statistics remain close: At this time last year, Cincinnati police were investigating 50 homicides, one fewer than now. The 51st for 2001 occurred Nov. 1.
