Tip leads Ky. police to meth lab; 2 charged

By The Cincinnati Enquirer

WALTON — Acting on a tip, Kentucky State Police troopers discovered a methamphetamine lab Tuesday in a motel room on Dixie Highway.

The raid at the Pon De Lon Motel, in the 13000 block of Dixie Highway 2 miles south of Walton, resulted in two arrests.

The raid also yielded the confiscation of 7 to 8 grams of processed methamphetamine product along with other drug paraphernalia, $1,300 cash and a 1989 Mazda pickup truck, state police said.

James E. Lykins, 34, of Walton, and Krista E. Vance, 31, also of Walton, were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine, state police said.

The case remains under investigation by state police, the Kenton and Boone county sheriff's departments and the Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force.
