Carole Snider has been named director of global human resource technology at Cognis. Ms. Snider will take the helm of the global InfoNet steering committee, a group that maintains Cognis' internal communications Web site. She has been with Cognis for 16 years. She was director of human resources for the company's Cincinnati and Charlotte locations and worked as the human resources manager for Cognis operations in Decatur, Ill. and Ambler, Pa. She graduated from Milliken University, Decatur, Ill., with a business administration and economics degree.
The American Cancer Society has selected Richard L. Robinson, partner at Graydon Head and Ritchey and immediate past president of the local Northern Kentucky unit, to serve as a member of the American Cancer Society Mid-South Division board of directors.
Dick Goehler, a member in the litigation department at Frost Brown Todd LLC, has been appointed to the 2002-2003 American Bar Association Section of Litigation Leadership. Mr. Goehler has been appointed as co-chair of the First Amendment and Media Litigation Committee, which is one of the committees in the substantive areas of litigation in the ABA.

Jeff Bunger has been named director of sales, new business development at Loth Mbi. Mr. Bunger will be responsible for managing the new business development sales team and overseeing the positioning of Loth Mbi products and services in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky marketplace. He was director of strategic accounts. He has more than 15 years of experience in contract office furnishing sales. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor's degree with a major in marketing.

Susan Maple has joined the Eastgate Sylvan Learning Center as director of education in training. Ms. Maple graduated from Xavier University with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and early childhood education and a master's degree in education. She was a teacher at the West Clermont Schools. Before that, she worked for one year in the Forest Hills School District.

Matt Schwan has been named vice president and general manager of the functional products business unit at Cognis. Mr. Schwan will manage Cognis' North American functional products business unit, handling general management of all marketing, sales, technical and administrative functions. He joined Cognis, then known as Henkel Corp. in 1989 with a strong background in engineering, manufacturing and chemical specialties industries. His experience includes 11 years with Quantum Corp. in Cincinnati. He graduated from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Ind., with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
