INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning and Indiana Pacers guard Reggie Miller have been named as recipients of this year's 10th annual Most Caring Athlete award.

        The award is presented by USA Today Weekend magazine, which is distributed in more than 590 newspapers nationwide. The magazine will publish profiles of Manning and Miller in Sunday's edition.

        The winners will receive a $5,000 contribution for the charities of their choosing.

        The criteria for award nomination includes the extensive donation of time — not just money or name — as well as the athlete's commitment and involvement over at least a period of a year.

        To qualify for the award, athletes also must take a strong leadership role in humanitarian work.
