Promotions and new on the job

        Rita Sweeney has been appointed corporate controller of the Freeman Co., manufacturer of equipment used to die cut and trim plastic, rubber and leather as well as other sheet goods. Ms. Sweeney has more than 10 years professional accounting and business experience. She will be responsible for accounting, finance, human resources and IT. She graduated from the College of Mount St. Joseph with a bachelor's degree in accounting.

        Dr. Ramona Brockett, assistant professor of political science at Northern Kentucky University and Mary Ann Haynes, manager of reservation sales for Delta Air Lines, have been selected to serve on the board of trustees for Media Bridges Cincinnati.

        Todd Ward has been named chairman of Enjoy the Arts/START board of directors.

        Duane Clement has been appointed chief executive officer at the research division of Catalina Marketing Corp. in Crestview Hills.

        Dr. Max Li has been appointed chief engineer at Melink Corp., an HVAC specialist, and Chris Vitori, sales manager.

        Kimberly Pfister has been named account manager at Freedman, Gibson & White Inc. Ms. Pfister, who joined the agency a year ago as assistant account manager, is responsible for project management and is the lead contact for several clients. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor's degree in integrated strategic communications.

        Rodger Roeser has joined Powers Agency as public relations director.

        David Noonan has joined Intelliseek as vice president of sales for the Enterprise Search Server (ESS) division.

        Jennifer McKenzie Bailey has joined Sibcy Cline Realtors as real estate sales associate, Fort Mitchell; Joseph A. Kovarik, real estate sales associate, Lakota Beckett; Karen D. Cordell, residential real estate sales associate, Northwest; Lori O'Brien, residential real estate specialist, Western Hills; John C. Mangus, residential sales associate, Lebanon; and Bill Bresser, real estate sales associate, Milford.

        Douglas V. Cleaves has been named senior vice president of PNC Bank, N.A. Mr. Cleaves is responsible for business development and client relationships among businesses generating $3 million - $20 million annually in sales. He has 16 years experience at PNC Bank, mostly in the commercial and middle market segments. He graduated from DePauw University with a bachelor's degree in economics.

        Frank Edwards has been named vice president of partner development at Feedback Communication LLC in Park Hills.

        Brian K. Kissel has joined Blue Chip Venture Co. as a Kauffman Fellow. The Kauffman Fellowship is an educational program designed to train future venture capitalists and leaders of high-growth companies.

        The following have joined Contech Construction Products Inc.'s new transportation management department: Toby Marshall, long haul truckload manager; Guy Stone, logistics coordinator; Clay Finney, short haul truckload and private fleet manager; and Alicia Moore, inbound transportation manager.

        Thomas J. Breed has joined the law firm of Wood & Lamping, LLP as a partner. Mr. Breed brings to Wood & Lamping an extensive practice in the areas of estate planning and probate law, as well as real estate and business law.

        Sue Leibrock has been appointed director of volunteers for Tall Stacks 2003.

        Donald H. Glosser has joined Lichtenstein Consulting Engineers Inc. as branch manager of the Ohio office.

        Charles Milton, president and owner of Milton Enterprise Inc. and Barbara Aras, chief executive officer of Main Street Ventures, have joined the board of trustees of Cincinnati Union Bethel.

        Barb Beeghly has been named director at FRCH Design Worldwide.

        David Rodarte has joined NUVO Technologies, a Hanser Holdings International Co. as president. Mr. Rodarte will be responsible for all elements of the company with a focus on product development, sales, and marketing. He has more than 15 years experience in strategic planning, marketing and management. He was president of consumer electronics firm Dynamic Control of North America Inc. in Hamilton.

        Melanie Fairchild and Michelle Haley have been named account executives at LPK (Libby Perszyk Kathman); Autumn Dobson joined as account coordinator; and Joe Berlepsch joined as an intern.

        Bryant Ard has joined Steed Hammond Paul as director of specifications for the Cincinnati office, and Jeff Sackenheim and Joey Pasquinelli have joined the company as technical document specialists.

        Anniversaries

        Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp. celebrated its 96th year in real estate on Aug. 27, making it the country's oldest and most established national real estate organization.

        Awards

        Disabled American Veterans in Cold Spring has received a national Emmy Award for Outstanding Historical Documentary — Long Form for the Korean War Documentary. The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in New York City presented the award on Sept. 10.

        Dan Parker, employee benefits broker at Acordia has received the 2002 Golden Eagle Award from the National Association of Health Underwriters.

        HHB Partners Inc. has been recognized by the Ohio Association of Realtors for outstanding promotion and advertising. The company won first place in four medium/small firm categories.

        Human Nature Inc., a Cincinnati-based landscape architecture firm, received an Award of Honor with Excellence from the Kentucky Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.

        Century Construction Inc. in Erlanger was awarded the nation's first Voluntary Protection Program Star Award for Construction by the U.S. Department of Labor.

        Expansion

        Remedy Intelligent Staffing has opened a new office at Longworth Hall, 700 W. Pete Rose Way, suite 347, Cincinnati, 45203. The new location will initially fill clerical, information technology and light industrial temporary and temporary-to-hire positions.

        Merger

        Prestige Travel and Carlson Wagonlit have merged to open a corporate travel and incentives company. The company will operate under the name Prestige Travel and will consolidate into Prestige's Montgomery Road location.

        New business

        TECHeGROUP (www.techegroup.com), a Covington-based application and Web site developer, helped Greater Cincinnati's only mobile animal hospital launch its online presence. Home Veterinary Care (www.homeveterinarycare.com) is the Tri state's first completely mobile veterinary care service.
