HIGHLAND HEIGHTS Northern Kentucky University's $38 million Natural Sciences Center will be dedicated Friday in a ceremony scheduled to feature a visit by Gov. Paul Patton.
Mr. Patton helped secure funding for what turned out to be the largest project on a college campus in Kentucky ever paid for by the taxpayers. He will speak during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Joining him during the program will be NKU administrators, local and state legislators and community leaders.
From noon to 3 p.m. students and faculty will be able to tour the building.
On Saturday tours, workshops and displays will be available for area teachers 10 a.m.-noon. The general public can tour the center from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The center houses NKU's biology, physics, geology and chemistry classes. Along with the $38 million in state money, NKU has raised $6 million in private donations.
