A walk of peace
March offers lessons of faiths
Sixth-grader Stephen Goist walked along Clifton Avenue on Wednesday with a dozen or so of his classmates from Cincinnati Waldorf School, and more than 100 adults, in a march sponsored by the University of Cincinnati Campus Ministries Association.
The group paused at the Islamic Association of Cincinnati, at St. John's Unitarian Church, Annunciation Roman Catholic Church and Hillel Jewish Student Center to hear prayers for peace and reflections on Sept. 11.

Peeking over adults' shoulders, Stephen and his friends leaned closer to hear passages from sacred texts and traditional hymns over the noise of passing cars.
Stephen was trying to keep in his thoughts every single person who lost a loved one in the attacks, while fathoming the magnitude of remembrances around the world.
If someone puts a lot of effort into something it's possible that one person can make a difference, the 11-year-old said. People have been influenced to do things and have become more aware of other people. It makes me feel very good to be a part of it.
