MAINEVILLE No one is going to confuse Bob Gilder with Tiger Woods, but the second-round leader at the Kroger Senior Classic is putting up Tiger-like results.
If Gilder's one-stroke lead over Ed Dougherty and Andy North at the Tournament Player's Club at River's Bend holds, the 51-year-old will have his fourth win in his last seven Senior PGA Tour starts.
I would say that with the position I'm in, I know how to do it, said Gilder who fired a second-round 65 to move to 13-under going into today's final round.
The trio tees off at 11:20a.m. today, with Dougherty and North both 12-under. Tom Kite is 11-under and three others are 9-under.
North made a late run Saturday with birdies on holes 16 and 17, shooting a 68 to make the final group for the second straight day. He birdied three of the final four holes Friday
There's nothing special about (those holes), he said. You just keep hitting it. If you do what you can do, you've got a chance to win.
Six weeks ago, Gilder led the SBC Senior Open going into the final round and finished first. He repeated that the following week at the FleetBoston Classic. The only time he has had to come from behind to win was last week at the Allianz Championship in Des Moines, Iowa.

I just try to stay focused, he said. I don't really feel like I get nervous.
Even with three wins since July 21, Gilder said Saturday's round of 65 may have been his best.
Today was as good of a day tee to green that I've had, he said. I hit the ball close all day. ... I'm not talking about 25-footers. I mean anywhere from 8 to 15 feet. I was putting for birdie on every hole but No.1.
Dougherty moved into contention for the final group on No.10 when he holed a 9-iron from 134 yards for an eagle to move to 9-under. He followed with a birdie at No.11 and then six straight pars before a birdie on No.18.
The group of Kite, Ben Crenshaw (9-under) and Gil Morgan (9-under) tees off 10 minutes before the leaders.
A lot of times it's someone in front of you who catches up, Gilder said. Because he's out there with nothing to lose.
Kite shot the low round for the day with a 64 including an eagle at No.11. Crenshaw's 65 was his best round of the year, his rookie season on the Senior PGA.
