Woman's body found in Ind. apartment

RICHMOND, Ind. - A 25-year-old Cincinnati woman's body was found Saturday beneath a refrigerator in an otherwise empty apartment here, and police are treating her death as a homicide.

No arrests were immediately made in the death of Peggy Jo McCracken, who had been living in Cincinnati and was visiting family in this east-central Indiana city.

A maintenance worker found the body Saturday afternoon in one of the apartment building's four units. The unit where the body was found had been empty for months.

It appeared Ms. McCracken died in the apartment building where her body was found, he said. An autopsy was planned.
