By Jim Hannah
The Cincinnati Enquirer
BATAVIA Two girls who wandered off from their campsite at East Fork State Park in Clermont County were found Saturday morning.
Samantha Hoffman, 8, of Norwood and Clair Spatt, 9, of Milford left the campsite where their families were at 8:30 p.m. Friday and got lost in the woods. Family members contacted a park ranger's station at 10 p.m. Friday, and a search was initiated.
Horseback riders who had heard news coverage of the search found the girls unharmed at 9 a.m. Saturday, about two miles from where they disappeared.
Searchers included personnel from the Clermont County Sheriff's Office, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Williamsburg Fire Department, East Fork Mounted Search and Rescue Team and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
