Makes dean's list: Lindsey Johnson, a sophomore education major, was named to the dean's list for the fourth consecutive semester at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo.
The Sycamore High School graduate is the daughter of Barb and Jim Johnson of Symmes
Gets Spartan award: Stephanie Rowe, of Roger Bacon High School, received the annual Spartan Achievement Award, a scholarship for an outstanding sophomore who demonstrates strong leadership, community service, extracurricular activities and academics.
She is the daughter of Mary and Kevin Rowe of Springfield Township.
Honor graduate: Cherita Lynne Townsend graduated summa cum laude with a master's degree in teaching from Marygrove College in Detroit, Mich. She is a graduate of Lakota High School and Bowling Green State University.
The daughter of Beth and Dave Townsend of Liberty Township will begin her teaching career at Lakota West High School in the fall.
Soldier wins medal: Army 1st Lt. Kecia McGriff has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal, awarded to those who distinguish themselves by outstanding achievement or service to the United States in noncombat situations. She is the company executive officer with Bravo Company, 125th Military Intelligence Battalion, Oahu, Hawaii.
The Winton Woods High School graduate is the daughter of Mary and Will McGriff of Forest Park.
Earns arts degree: Kelley Alderson earned an associate's degree in commercial arts from Antonelli College. He will pursue a bachelor's degree at the University of Cincinnati.
The Milford High School graduate is the son of Terri and Frank Alderson of Miami Township, Clermont County.
Honors in family: Sophomore history major Stephen Tully, of Withamsville, was named to the spring semester dean's list at Northern Kentucky University, with a 4.0 grade-point average.
At the same time, his daughter Jessica Tully, a freshman political science major, made the second semester list at Miami University. She is a graduate of McNicholas High School.
