E Dubai wins Suburban Handicap

NEW YORK E Dubai cruised to a three-quarters length victory in the 116th Grade II $500,000 Suburban Handicap for horses 3 and older at Belmont Park on Saturday.
With 116 pounds and John Velazquez aboard, the 4-year-old colt by Mr Prospector made every pole a winning one on his way to finishing the 1 1/4 miles in 2 minutes, 4-5 seconds on the fast track.
Lido Palace was runner-up in the seven-horse field, a length before Macho Uno.
It was the first win in two starts this year and the second career stakes victory for E Dubai, who won last year's Grade II Dwyer also at Belmont Park.
E Dubai earned $300,000 for Godolphin Racing Inc. and returned $11.80,$5.90 and $3. Lido Palace paid $4 and $2.40, and Macho Uno was $2.20.
Carson Hollow led throughout to post an impressive two-length score in the co-featured 55th running of the Grade I $200,000 Prioress Stakes for 3-year-old fillies. Spring Meadow closed well to finish second 2 1/4 lengths ahead of Proper Gamble in the seven-horse field.
With the win, the filly by Carson City from the Hold Your Peace mare, Lizeality, remained undefeated in four career starts.
Carson Hollow carried 114 and John Velazquez over six furlongs in 1:08 3-5 on the fast track to earn $120,000.
The winner returned $10.50, $6.50 and $3.90. Spring Meadow paid $6.50 and $3.60, and Proper Gamble $3.
