Sorenstam leads Evian Masters

The Associated Press

EVIAN-LES-BAINS, France — Sweden's Annika Sorenstam, seeking her fifth LPGA Tour victory of the year, shot a 7-under 65 to take a four-stroke lead after the third round of the Evian Masters.

Sorenstam had 16-under 200 total. South Korea's Mi Hyun Kim (68) was second, and South Korean star Se Ri Pak (70) was another stroke back along with Cristie Kerr (67) and Leta Lindley (70).

Sorenstam, the 2000 winner, leads the tour with four victories and $1,039,054 in 10 starts this year. She also won her season-opening event in Australia.

        BellSouth Senior Classic

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jay Sigel shot an 8-under 64, his best round this year, to take a two-stroke lead after the opening round of the BellSouth Senior Classic.

Sigel, who won the Farmers Charity Classic last month in Michigan, had an eagle and six birdies in the bogey-free round on the Springhouse Golf Club course.

Dana Quigley and Walter Hall shot 66s, and 71-year-old Miller Barber bettered his age for the third time in his career with a 67. Lee Trevino and Fuzzy Zoeller also opened with 67s.
