Graduate named Carnegie scholar
Christopher Schroeder received the Andrew Carnegie Scholar Award in recognition of his 4.0 grade point average, community service, leadership and extracurriculars at his graduation from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. He was also inducted into the American Society of Physicists Honors.
Mr. Schroeder, a member of the Upsilon of Pennsylvania chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, works in the Robotics Department at CMU, which is funded for NASA research.
The Walnut Hills High School graduate is the son of Janet and Rick Schroeder of Price Hill.
Jennifer Bertke, a sophomore architecture major, was named to the fall quarter dean's list at Ohio University.
The Mount Notre Dame High School graduate is the daughter of Barb and Tom Bertke of West Chester Township.
Jennifer Outzs, sixth -grade math teacher at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Middle School, was chosen as Outstanding Elementary Mathematics Teacher for Southwest Ohio by the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
