Four Big Ten teams headed to NCAA championships

EAST LANSING, Mich. Four Big Ten schools will advance to the NCAA championship after placing in the top eight of the Central Regional women's golf tournament Saturday.
Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan and Michigan State will all advance. The Buckeyes tied for second place with Texas, placing behind Tulsa in the tournament, held at Forest Akers West Golf Course at Michigan State.
Purdue took fourth and Michigan and Michigan State took sixth and eighth, respectively.
The Spartans rebounded from an eleventh place finish.
Wisconsin, Northwestern and Indiana also finished in the top 21.
Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh finished on top in the individuals, shooting a three round total of 219.
Caroline Laurens of Purdue finished third with 224 and Malinda Johnson of Wisconsin took fifth after shooting 226.
Teammates Lindsay Knowlton and Mollie Fankhouser of Ohio State tied for sixth place with 227 and Spartan Allison Fouch shot a 229 to take 10th place.
The top eight teams in the region and two individuals advance to the NCAA Championship held May 21-24 at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash.
