Northern Kentucky spring cleanups
Boone County
When: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. April 29-May 5
Where: Public works yard off Maplewood Drive in Burlington. Accepting appliances, salvage metal and four waste tires per vehicle.
Junk vehicles also will be removed from residents' property at no cost. Volunteers in Florence, Union and Walton will clean roadways from 8:30 a.m.-noon on April 27 as part of the Great American Cleanup.

Campbell County
When: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. April 5-7.
Where: Edward S. Pendery Park in Melbourne and the Campbell County Police Department in Alexandria (both are accepting normal trash debris that may have accumulated in the garage, barn, or around the house, and the Campbell County Road Department off Racetrack Road in Alexandria (accepting metal, car batteries, propane tanks, appliances including those with freon, four tires per vehicle and normal household or farm debris.

Covington
When: 9 a.m.-noon April 27 at various sites. Picnic for volunteers, noon to 2 p.m. in Goebel Park.

Doe Run Lake
When: 9 a.m.-noon April 27. Free hot dogs and cold drinks served afterwards.

Kenton County
When: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. April 6-7
Where: The public works office on Independence Station Road (trash and appliances including freon bearing), Pioneer Park off Ky. 17 or 3L Highway and DRT Construction at Ky. 17 and Ky. 16 (accepting trash only).

No commercial or industrial refuse or solvents will be accepted at any of the cleanup sites, including paint, gasoline or diesel fuel. For information on disposing those items, call (859) 283-1885.
