Memphis, Syracuse advance in NIT

        MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Dajuan Wagner had 24 points and nine assists to lead Memphis to an 80-69 victory over Brigham Young Wednesday night in the second round of the NIT.

        Wagner made nine of his first 14 shots to help Memphis (24-9) advance to a third-round game Saturday at home against Tennessee Tech. Antonio Burks added 18 for Memphis, and Chris Massie scored 16.

        Memphis took control in the first half with a 15-2 run that put the Tigers up 22-9 with 12:31 left. Memphis eventually extended the lead to 20 at 34-14.

        Wagner had 15 at the half and Burks had 11 as Memphis shot 50 percent from the field.
       Syracuse 62, Richmond 46
RICHMOND, Va. — Hakim Warrick scored 15 points and helped Syracuse dominate inside to advance to the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden. Syracuse has won three straight after losing nine of 13 to close the season.

        Richmond (22-14), playing for the seventh time in 14 days, appeared to run out of steam after getting within three at 36-33 early in the second half.
