VERONA — Six people were killed late Friday in a two-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer and a van on southbound Interstate 71 in Boone County, about four miles south of the I-71/I-75 split.

The crash occurred about 10:20 p.m.

Boone County Sheriff's Deputies shut down traffic on southbound I-71 shortly after the crash. Traffic was still blocked well after midnight.

The sheriff's department was not releasing the identity of the victims late Friday or information on how the accident happened.

        The accident is under investigation.
