Hershey 2, Mighty Ducks 1




        HERSHEY, Pa. — K.C. Timmons scored a pair of first-period goals to lead the Hershey Bears to a 2-1 AHL victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Sunday at Hersheypark Arena.

        Phil Sauve made 26 saves as the Bears extended their unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1-0) and moved to within one point of Cincinnati for eighth place in the Western Conference standings.

        Jarrett Smith scored the lone goal, and Ilja Bryzgalov made 41 saves for the Ducks, who are winless in their last four (0-3-1-0) and 3-7-3-0 in their last 13.

        Hershey ....... 2-0-0—2

        First period: 1. Her, Timmons 5, (Obsut, Hahl), 4:12.2. Her, Timmons 6 (Moore), 7:02.

        Second period: 3. Cin, Smith 8 (Brigley), 5:46.

        Third period: No scoring.
