Red Wings assign two to Mighty Ducks

The American Hockey League's Cincinnati Mighty Ducks were assigned center Sean Avery and goaltender Jason Elliott by the NHL's Detroit Red Wings.
Avery, 21, had two assists with 37 penalty minutes in 16 games with Detroit this season. He has 14 goals, six assists and 92 penalty minutes in 33 games this season with Cincinnati.
Elliott, 27, has not appeared in any games with Detroit this season. He is 9-10-3 with a 2.77 goals-against average and .901 save percentage in 25 appearances with Cincinnati this season.
AHL ALL-STARS:
Cleveland's Mike Craig scored three goals and was named the MVP of the AHL All-Star game as Canada beat PlanetUSA 13-11 at St. John's, Newfoundland, Thursday.
Don MacLean of St. John's tied the score late in the third period, and Tom Kostopoulos of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton gave Canada an 11-10 lead with 1:31 to go.
