Griffis wins unanimous decision

LAUGHLIN, Nev. Talmadge Griffis dominated the middle rounds and won a unanimous decision over Dale Crowe in their 10-round heavyweight bout Saturday.
Griffis (21-1-3, 13 knockouts), of Colorado Springs, Colo., was more accurate in a bout with considerable clutching and holding. There were no knockdowns, but Crowe (21-5-2, 13 KOs), of Cincinnati, was nicked over the left eye in the first round.
Griffis outpointed Crowe 98-92, 97-93 and 96-94 on the judges' scorecards. Griffis weighed in at 224 pounds, six fewer than Crowe.
They fought to a 10-round draw Oct. 13 at Lake Tahoe, Nev.
In another 10-round heavyweight fight Saturday, Corey Sanders (22-6), of Washington, D.C., won a majority decision over Terrance Lewis (30-10, of Philadelphia.
