DAYTON, Ohio Brooks Hall scored a career-high 26 points and Dayton held Chris Monroe to 1-for-12 shooting.
Dayton (9-4, 1-1 Atlantic 10) seldom missed and seldom gave up open shots in a dominating first half. The Flyers made 16 of 26 shots from the field and held George Washington (9-5, 2-1) to 26.7 percent shooting.
Monroe came into the game averaging 22.8 points 11th-best in Division I but managed only one 3-pointer and three free throws, all in the first half. Monroe, the Colonials' only returning starter from last season, had scored in double digits in his last 21 games.
Ramod Marshall added 20 points for Dayton and Keith Waleskowski made every shot as he scored 18. Waleskowski made all six of his field-goal attempts, including a 3-pointer, and all five free throws.
