BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Tom Coverdale scored 22 points and Jared Jeffries added 21 as Indiana made 14 3-pointers in an 83-65 victory over No.25 Michigan State on Tuesday night.

The Hoosiers (10-5, 3-0 Big Ten) made 10 of 16 3-pointers in the first half to build a 24-point lead. Coverdale made his first six 3-point attempts, scoring 21 in the first half, and Dane Fife was 3-for-4. Fife finished with 14.
Coverdale made his first eight shots overall before missing a 3 midway through the second half.

Indiana shot 65 percent overall in the first half and led 48-26.
The Hoosiers struggled at first to regain their shot in the second half, making only four baskets in the first 10 minutes. The Spartans (9-6, 0-2) capitalized with a 16-8 run to make it a 14-point game.

But Jeffries hit a 3 and Kyle Hornsby followed with a steal on the next possession. Hornsby hit a 3-pointer to push Indiana's lead back to 20.

By the time Jeff Newton converted a three-point play to make it 74-51, the sold-out crowd at Assembly Hall was chanting “Overrated! Overrated!” at the Spartans.
