Mighty Ducks 3, Cleveland 0
Jason Williams had two goals and Ilja Bryzgalov turned away 24 shots for his second straight shutout to lead the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks to a 3-0 victory over the Cleveland Barons Saturday night in the AHL at the Gardens.
Jesse Wallin added a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who have won three of their last four games after going winless in their previous seven (0-4-2-1).
The Ducks improved to 8-1-2-1 in their last 12 games at home and moved within five points of the first-place Barons in the Central Division with five games in hand.
Bryzgalov, a second-round pick by Anaheim in 2000, stopped five shots in the first period, seven in the second and 12 more in the final 20 minutes to extend his shutout sequence to 138:02, 54 seconds shy of the club record held by Gregg Naumenko.
Vesa Toskala stopped 24 shots for Cleveland as the Barons dropped their fourth straight game.
