Jagr, Bondra lead Caps

WASHINGTON Jaromir Jagr ended a scoring slump with two goals and the Washington Capitals beat struggling Atlanta 5-2 Saturday, extending the Thrashers' winless streak to seven games.
Patrik Stefan scored twice for Atlanta, on an 0-5-2 skid. The points were his first in five games since spending five games in the minors.
Peter Bondra tallied twice and Joe Reekie also scored for the Capitals, who reached .500 (14-14-5) for the first time since Oct. 26.
Flyers 5, Bruins 2
BOSTON Paul Ranheim, Ruslan Fedotenko and Jeremy Roenick scored second-period goals, lifting Philadelphia past Boston.
Mark Recchi and John LeClair also scored for the Flyers.
Brian Rolston scored a short-handed goal, and Don Sweeney had his first of the season for the Bruins.
Devils 2, Senators 0
OTTAWA Martin Brodeur recorded his first shutout of the season and earned his 300th career win as the New Jersey Devils beat the Ottawa Senators 2-0 Saturday night.
Petr Sykora and Jason Arnott scored.
Named to Canada's Olympic team earlier in the day, Brodeur stopped 39 shots for his 52nd career shutout, and first since Apr. 7 against Montreal.
Rangers 4, Sabres 2
NEW YORK Mark Messier and Mike York each scored a goal and had an assist to lead New York past Buffalo and snap a five-game losing streak.
Messier gave New York a 3-0 lead at 17:08 of the second period when he took a cross-ice pass from Mikael Samuelsson and wristed a shot off the right post for his sixth of the season and 1800th NHL point.
Messier became only the third NHL player to reach 1800 points, behind Gordie Howe (1850) and Wayne Gretzky (2857).
Theo Fleury scored a power-play goal and Jeff Toms had an empty-net goal for New York.
Vyacheslav Kozlov and Maxim Afinogenov scored for Buffalo.
Panthers 3, Islanders 1
UNIONDALE, N.Y. Roberto Luongo's 36 saves helped Florida beat slumping New York, giving the Panthers their third win in five games since Mike Keenan took over as coach.
Kristian Huselius, Niklas Hagman and Pavel Bure scored for Florida, which won consecutive games for the first time this season.
Brad Isbister had the only goal for New York, now 1-4-3-1 in its last nine games.
Maple Leafs 6, Canadiens 4
TORONTO Gary Roberts had two goals and an assist as Toronto beat Montreal.
The Maple Leafs have won five straight.
Former Canadien Shayne Corson added a goal and two assists for Toronto, which outshot Montreal 48-16.
Darcy Tucker, Robert Reichel and Dmitry Yushkevich also scored for the Maple Leafs, who lead the Eastern Conference with 45 points.
Benoit Gratton, Stephane Quintal, Richard Zednik, and Mike Ribeiro scored for the Canadiens.
Canucks 3, Red Wings 0
VANCOUVER, British Columbia Todd Bertuzzi scored twice and Dan Cloutier made 16 saves as Vancouver ended four-and-a-half years of futility against Detroit.
It was Vancouver's first win against the Red Wings since Feb. 6, 1997 and their first home win over Detroit since Dec. 20, 1996.
Markus Naslund also scored and Matt Cooke had two assists for the Canucks, who went 0-14-4 against the Wings between wins.
Kings 3, Blue Jackets 2
LOS ANGELES Bryan Smolinski scored two goals, including Los Angeles' first short-handed goal of the season, leading the Kings past Columbus.
Smolinski and Adam Deadmarsh scored on power plays and goaltender Felix Potvin earned his sixth straight win against the second-year Blue Jackets, making 18 saves.
The Kings are unbeaten in four games (3-0-1),
Ray Whitney and rookie Jody Shelley scored for Columbus, which has lost seven of its last nine games.
Blues 4, Flames 0
ST. LOUIS Keith Tkachuk scored two goals and goaltender Brent Johnson faced just nine shots, leading St. Louis past Calgary.
Chris Pronger and Dallas Drake also scored for the Blues, who scored a pair of power-play goals. St. Louis had scored just three goals on its last 23 power plays entering the game.
Calgary's nine shots were a season low.
Predators 5, Blackhawks 2
NASHVILLE, Tenn. Petr Tenkrat had his first career three-goal game including two in 27 seconds as Nashville beat Chicago.
Vitali Yachmenev and Greg Johnson had the other Predators goals.
Michael Nylander and Mark Bell scored for Chicago.
Stars 6, Coyotes 2
PHOENIX Valeri Kamensky scored his first two goals of the season and Mike Modano notched the 398th of his career as Dallas defeated Phoenix.
Jere Lehtinen, Sergei Zubov and Martin Rucinsky also scored for the Stars.
Dallas, which has won seven of its last eight, snapped Phoenix's six-game home winning streak.
Marty Turco had 25 saves for his fourth consecutive victory, but missed a third straight shutout when Daniel Briere and Brad May scored for Phoenix in the second period.
Dallas ran up a 5-0 lead on 12 shots in the first 27:46 against Coyotes rookie Patrick DesRochers, who finished with just 14 saves in his second start.
