        COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Byron Mouton scored 17 points and sparked a 13-0 run at the start of the second half that carried No. 3 Maryland to its eighth straight victory, 91-55 over Monmouth on Tuesday night.

        Juan Dixon had 18 points for the Terrapins (8-1), who outscored Monmouth 45-18 in the second half to extend the nation's longest non-conference home winning streak to 82 games.

        Russ Anderson scored 12 points for the Hawks (4-4), who trailed by only nine at halftime.

        Mouton opened the second half with a 3-pointer before Dixon and Tahj Holden each made two free throws. Lonny Baxter followed with a basket, then made two foul shots before Holden finished the run with a hook shot that made it 59-37.

BOSTON — Troy Bell had a career-high 42 points, the most points scored by a player in Conte Forum, which opened in 1988, and the Eagles (8-0) won their 24th consecutive home game.

        Bell was coming off his previous career-best of 34 in an 80-78 win over Massachusetts on Saturday. He was 5-of-8 from 3-point range and 17-for-17 from the free throw line.

        Tyray Pearson had 25 points and eight rebounds for Iowa State (5-5).

        No. 25 Gonzaga 67, Washington 47

        SEATTLE — Cory Violette scored a career-high 18 points and had 13 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (8-2), who beat Washington for the fourth straight time.

        Doug Wrenn and Grant Leep each had nine points for the Huskies (6-3), who entered the game shooting 46.4 percent from 3-point range but missed 12 straight during one stretch and went 6-of-25.

        Gonzaga's Dan Dickau was booed by the fans at the school where he played two seasons before transferring across the state. He played only seven minutes in the first half because of foul trouble and finished with eight points, 10 below his average.
