UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Marian Hossa's power-play goal with 3:24 left in regulation lifted the Ottawa Senators into a 2-2 tie Tuesday night against the New York Islanders and former teammate Alexei Yashin.

Yashin and linemate Mariusz Czerkawski each had a goal and an assist for the Islanders, who have not beaten Ottawa at home in 12 games (0-9-3) dating to Jan. 6, 1996.

Radek Bonk also scored for Ottawa.

The Islanders, who acquired Yashin from Ottawa in June, moved into a tie with the New York Rangers for first place in the Atlantic Division.

        Maple Leafs 6, Coyotes 3

TORONTO — Bryan McCabe had two goals and two assists for a career-best four points as Toronto beat Phoenix.

Darcy Tucker had a goal and two assists, tying his career-high with three points, for the Maple Leafs, who have won three straight and five of six. Toronto leads the Eastern Conference with 41 points.

McCabe, Tucker and Mats Sundin scored power-play goals for the Maple Leafs.

Michal Handzus scored twice for the Coyotes, who haven't won on the road since Nov. 9.

        Predators 1, Kings 1

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jason Allison scored 8:41 into the third period, lifting Los Angeles into a tie with Nashville.

Andy Delmore gave Nashville a 1-0 lead at 13:30 of the second, and the Predators held on to stretch their home unbeaten streak to eight games.

        Penguins 2, Capitals 2

WASHINGTON — Johan Hedberg scrambled to make 32 saves, including two superb reflex stops in the final five minutes of regulation, as Pittsburgh tied Washington.

Capitals forward Jaromir Jagr had an assist in his first game against his former team, but he wasn't much of a factor until the final minutes.

The Capitals' goals came on a solo breakaway by Ulf Dahlen and on a 2-on-1 break when Chris Simon scored seconds after leaving the penalty box.

Olaf Kolzig made 22 saves in a steady performance for the Capitals. He had little chance to see the scoring shots by Alexei Kovalev and Jan Hrdina.

        Sharks 5, Oilers 4, OT

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Brad Stuart scored with 52 seconds left in overtime as San Jose extended its unbeaten streak to seven games.

Jochen Hecht scored a power-play goal late in the second period to tie it for the Oilers, on a season-high three-game winless streak.

Mike Ricci scored twice for the Sharks.

The Oilers scored two short-handed goals, doubling their season total, and two power-play goals. Anson Carter had a goal and an assist for Edmonton.

San Jose had allowed two power-play goals in 47 home chances before Edmonton cashed in twice in its first four chances. Six of the eight goals came on special teams.
