Clark County deputy fired

The Associated Press

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — A deputy with the Clark County Sheriff's Office has been fired after he was accused of pointing a gun at a firefighter.

Sheriff Gene Kelly fired Deputy Matt Brocious, 27, after a disciplinary hearing Tuesday that ended a weeklong investigation.

Mr. Brocious responded to a wreck Nov. 23 and a Pike Township firefighter pulled up. Mr. Brocious told investigators he asked the firefighter three times to move the truck.

Incident reports and investigation interviews say Mr. Brocious pointed his gun at the firefighter's neck, ordered him out of the truck and handcuffed him.
