Mark Matteucci was named to the dean's honors list at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He is the son of Carla and Rob Matteucci of Newtown.
Emilie Zanger, attending Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., has accepted membership in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. The Society is an honors organization that recognizes first- and second-year undergraduate students who excel academically.
Ms. Zanger, of Montgomery, is a Sycamore High School graduate.
Adam Kuzma received a four-year dedicated nurse scholarship from the U.S. Army, based on his overall ability as a scholar, leader and athlete. The award covers tuition, fees, money to ward books and a living stipend.
Mr. Kuzma is a sophomore at Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn. He received a baseball scholarship to attend Carson-Newman and continues to play.
The graduate of Stephen T. Badin High School is the son of Claire and Mark Kuzma of Fairfield.
Wyoming Middle School eighth-grader Eric Dorger won the Best of the Best Award in the 2001 season of the Power of the Pen. His winning work, First Prize, will be published in the 2001 Book of Winners.
The following have been awarded Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) college scholarships:
Stephen Ogg, a graduate of Glen Este High School; Nicole Kernen of Seton High School; Nicho las Moller of St. Xavier High School; and Luke Doerning of St. Xavier High School.
Upon college graduation and completion of the ROTC program, the cadets will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the Air Force.
