Miami recruits
By Neil Schmidt
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Miami is awaiting signed letters from two verbal commitments: Josh Hausfeld, a 6-3 guard from Roger Bacon and John Morningstar, a 6-10 forward from Elkhart (Ind.) Concord High.
Hausfeld was a Division II second-team all-state selection and GCL North player of the year last season, averaging 14.7 points and leading the Spartans to the regional championship game.
He will be a four-year starter and is currently sixth on the Bacon career scoring list with 898 points. He picked basketball over football; he played both quarterback and wide receiver this fall.
Morningstar averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds a game last season.
Athletic directors should fax (768-8550) or e-mail (sports@enquirer.com) to the Enquirer the names of athletes signing national letters-of-intent this week.
