Betsy Moore and Stephanie Sandfoss scored first-half goals as Northern Kentucky's women's soccer team defeated Mercyhurst 2-1 Sunday in the NCAA Division II Tournment and advanced to the Elite Eight.

        NKU (21-1) plays Truman State (18-2) Nov.18 at Kirksville, Mo. NKU is seeking its third consecutive trip to the Division II Final Four.

        NKU VOLLEYBALL: The Norse (27-4) meet Northern Michigan (22-9) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Allendale, Mich., in the first round of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional. If NKU wins, it will play Grand Valley State at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
