Mighty Ducks 6, Albany 4
Jonas Ronnqvist keyed a five-goal second period with two goals, helping the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks earn a 6-4 win over the Albany River Rats Saturday in the AHL at the Cincinnati Gardens.
Andy McDonald also scored twice and Sean Avery finished with a goal and an assist for Cincinnati, which is 5-2-0-1 in its last eight games. Peter Podhradsky and Jarrett Smith each contributed a pair of assists.
Ilja Bryzgalov, a second-round pick of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2000, stopped 14-of-15 shots in relief of Jason Elliott to register his fifth victory on the season. Stanlisalv Gron had a goal and an assist for the River Rats, who are winless in their last seven games (0-5-2-0).
Scott Clemmensen, a New Jersey Devils prospect, surrendered six goals on 39 shots.
Cincinnati completes a three-game homestand against the Chicago Wolves at 3:05 p.m. today. Ducks players will be available to sign autographs after the game.
