The Associated Press
LOUISVILLE Two Indiana men are accused of using equipment stolen from the Kentucky Department of Motor Vehicles to produce driver's licenses they used to open checking accounts and amass more than $60,000 in goods, police said.
Jefferson County police have recovered two extended-cab pickup trucks, four computers, five cellular phones and numerous credit applications, said Detective Chuck Mann. The DMV equipment was stolen from a Kentucky facility early last month.
Police say the men, of Greenfield, Ind., used the equipment to make about 20 driver's licenses.
David C. Ricco, 20, is charged with identity theft, criminal possession of a forged instrument and theft.
Leslie A. Pryor, 34, is being held on charges of receiving stolen property, identity theft, trafficking in stolen identities and criminal possession of a forged instrument.
