Parents die in crash; three hurt

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. A Shelbiana couple were killed Saturday morning and their two children and another person were injured in a head-on collision on the Mountain Parkway in Magoffin County.
Kentucky State Police said Kenny Blackburn, 40, and his wife, Calesta, 36, the driver, were traveling east at 6:40 a.m. when their car crossed into the westbound lane and hit a pickup truck driven by Mark A. Gullett, 28, of Salyersville.
Kenny Blackburn was pronounced dead at the scene. Calesta Blackburn was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The Blackburns' children, Joshua and Jeremy, both 11, were in serious condition. Joshua was at University of Kentucky Children's Hospital in Lexington, and Jeremy was taken to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Mr. Gullett was in fair condition Saturday night at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
