The run, which got under way with a shot from a starter's pistol fired by Melissa, benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation. After the race, Melissa, who is in remission from cancer, got her wish — a trip to Disney World in Orlando, Fla. The race is run in memory of Maria Olberding, who was slain in Hyde Park in 1994 while jogging.
