Eric Hicks, a 6-foot-7 forward from Greensboro, N.C., who made his official recruiting visit to the University of Cincinnati this past weekend, probably won't announce his college choice until he has taken all five of his visits, said Derrick Hicks, Eric's brother. Eric is scheduled to visit Florida State and may also visit Virginia Tech, though nothing had been set up. He has visited Connecticut and Tennessee. Derrick, who is helping his brother with the recruiting process, told The Enquirer that Cincinnati and Tennessee are the leaders.
UC will play host to a two-day basketball coaching clinic Oct. 19-20 at Shoemaker Center. Featured speakers include Bearcats coach Bob Huggins, UC women's coach Laurie Pirtle, Miami coach Charlie Coles, Bowling Green coach Dan Dakich, Portland Trail Blazers assistant Tates Locke and former NBA coach and television analyst Hubie Brown. Meridy Glenn recorded her 200th career coaching victory in UC's 2-0 Conference USA victory Sunday against Memphis. The Bearcats are 7-2, 4-0 C-USA.

XAVIER WOMEN'S SOCCER:
Ron Quinn earned his 100th coaching victory at XU when the Musketeers (2-5) defeated Butler 3-1 in Indianapolis.
MIAMI WOMEN'S SOCCER:
The RedHawks (6-3) moved to 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference for the first time in program history, scoring a season-best five goals in a 5-3 victory at Kent State.
