TV picks: The post-riot healing continues with the first of several Common Ground: Working for Change simulcasts with community activists and leaders. The show airs 8-9:30 p.m. on Channel 48, and 8-9 p.m. on Channel 9. Channel 48 also will simulcast the Common Ground: Your Response call-in show with WDBZ-AM (1230) 9:30-10 p.m. WDBZ-AM (1230), WVXU-FM (91.7), WNKU-FM (89.7) and WIZF-FM (100.9) also will simulcast the TV show.
Critic John Kiesewetter also says the MTV Video Music Awards rocks the Metropolitan Opera House (8 p.m., MTV).
