Boyz II Men singer weds ex-Toledoan

The Associated Press

TOLEDO, Ohio — Boyz II Men singer Shawn Stockman's dream of romance and falling in love has come true.

Mr. Stockman, 28, married former Toledo resident Sharhonda Lavette Jones, 31, at a ceremony at a downtown hotel Saturday.

“It's something we believe in — romance and falling in love,” Mr. Stockman said in 1995 when the R&B group's song “I'll Make Love to You” captured several awards at the 22nd annual American Music Awards.

Ms. Jones' mother, Sheila Gregory Burns, said she was happy for her daughter and proud of her choice for a husband.

About 100 fans stood outside the Wyndham Hotel in hopes of seeing stars among the more than 300 wedding guests.

Friends and family said Ms. Jones met Mr. Stockman several years ago when she worked as a road manager for Boyz II Men.

The two will live in Studio City, Calif., where Mr. Jones works as a film producer.
