Missing kids safe with relatives

FLORENCE — Two missing children were found safe with separate relatives early Monday morning, a Boone County dispatcher said.

Police and residents had been searching for the two since 7 p.m. when they failed to return to their Sanders Drive residence after leaving to collect for their newspaper route.

Paul Braun, 12, and Tiffany Benson, 13, had been missing from Sanders Drive since 5:30 p.m. when they left on their bicycles to collect money for their Boone County Recorder newspaper route, dispatchers at the county communications center said Sunday night.

Relatives reported them overdue at 6:50 p.m. They were riding blue and purple mountain bikes, a dispatcher said.

Relatives said the children are “very disciplined” and that it's unusual for them to be late returning home.

Florence police, fire department and Boone County Emergency Management were involved in the search along with a Clermont County Sheriff's Department bloodhound.
